When the Law Goes to Sleep

The law has gone to sleep on almost all the issues, starting with racial profiling, police brutality, and the killing of unarmed people of color. Mrs. Penelope Owen lost her husband inside a corrupt police department and her only child at the hands of a police officer, Kenneth Brain, during a mistaken identity car stop. The justice system failed her on both counts of her attempts to seek justice. Living in a society where some individuals can afford to fall short of the law, and still go Scott-free; a society where some lives seem matter more than others.
